The bearing housings are mechanically fixed and not welded to prevent arching of the bearing housing and to ensure more accurately aligned bearings. Less stress on the bearing operation due to better alignment and improved impact absorption due to the bearing carrier all results in longer bearing life. The Megaroller Steel Roller’s easier-rolling bearings produce less friction and less noise.

Mechanically Fixed Bearing Housing (Patent number 2015/01170)

In the new generation Megaroller Steel Roller, the bearing housings are mechanically fixed instead of being welded into place. This ensures superior bearing alignment to deliver a more efficient and longer-lasting roller.

Cushioned Bearing Carriers
Megaroller’s cushioned bearing carrier made from high-quality Nylon offers vibration shock protection at the most crucial part of the roller – the bearing. It enhances the roller’s impact resistance and guards the bearing against vibration, one of the main causes of roller failure. This additional barrier is unique to Megaroller rollers and drastically enhances roller life.

Anti-seize Flinger
The outer half of the labyrinth seal of the new Megaroller Steel Roller has been increased to offer the additional benefit of creating an anti-seize flinger. Made from high-quality Nylon, this flinger is fixed to the shaft of the roller ensuring a static outer surface while the roller body turns. This feature ensures that no foreign object or piece of raw material can get wedged between the roller and the steel structure and cause the roller to seize prematurely. This ensures a more robust design and a longer-lasting roller.

Anti-Static
Our innovative Antistatic Technology comprising of a copper strip inside the roller that connects the outer shell to the shaft, are applied to the Megaroller Steel Rollers as a standard feature. Static electricity is earthed inside the roller to mitigate the risk of an open spark in methane-rich underground mines, which presents a major fire hazard in coal and gold mines.

Lubricated for Life:

Bearing lubrication is an important factor affecting the theoretical lifespan of any conveyor roller. Bearings are lubricated at the factory and placed inside the bearing housing with a back seal and the bearing carrier providing a protective barrier from both sides of the bearing. This eliminates the need to lubricate at the user level, prevents the risk of over or under-lubrication, and mitigates the risk of bearing failure due to lack of lubrication.
